INFOGRAGPHIC: History of PANDEMICS

Interesting graphic on the history of pandemics...

Pan·dem·ic /panˈdemik/ (of a disease) prevalent over a whole country or the world.

As humans have spread across the world, so have infectious diseases. Even in this modern era, outbreaks are nearly constant, though not every outbreak reaches pandemic level as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) has.

Today’s visualization outlines some of history’s most deadly pandemics, from the Antonine Plague to the current COVID-19 event.

INFOGRAPHIC: Facial Hairstyles and Respirators

The infographic below, first published in 2017 by the CDC's National Institute for Occupational Safety and Healthy, was circulated on social media recently and actually has nothing to do with the new virus.

The NIOSH published the infographic to show workers what types of facial hairstyles affect a tight-sealing mask/respirator.

Facial hair that lies along the sealing area of a respirator, such as beards, sideburns or some moustaches, interferes with respirators that rely on a tight facepiece seal to achieve maximum protection, according to the CDC.

NIKE is Still #1 When It Comes to Sneakers...

Check your runners right now. What brand are they? Chances are they're a Nike cause according to IBT, Nike's still on top!...
Contrary to what their name might suggest, basketball, tennis and running shoes are in no way confined to courts and tracks these days. Athletic footwear, less formally known as sneakers, can be found anywhere from boardrooms to fashion runways and companies such as Nike and Adidas are making billions feeding the sneaker frenzy.
With annual footwear sales of $22.3 billion, Nike is still number 1 in the global sneakers market. Having started as an enterprise licensing Japanese running shoes for the American market, Nike quickly developed a name of its own in the 1970s when some of the company’s most iconic silhouettes were introduced.

INFOGRAPHIC: Fascinating RAT Facts

With all the rat talks lately and their ongoing problems in the area, we were curious to learn more about them. Yes, we run and scream when we see a rat scampering by but there's more to these critters than meets the eye. Most of us view them as disgusting, filthy creatures that are associated with disease - while others say they make great, affectionate pets!
The truth is, rats are not only very smart and are known for their problem-solving skills but they aren't as filthy as we think either. Read on to learn more fascinating facts about rats...

"True rats" are members of the genus Rattus, the most important of which to humans are the black rat, Rattus rattus, and the brown rat, Rattus norvegicus.

  • Rats wash themselves several times a day - about as often as most cats, if not more!

10 Signs you're a PERFECTIONIST... yeah, YOU!
I thought I was a perfectionist until I read #'s 5 and 6. My surroundings are always chaotic-looking and as for #6, there was no way in hell that was me. Most days I looked like I just rolled right out of bed and wherever I had to be...
