While grocery shopping the other day, I came across these limited-edition cookies from Oreo called 'Firework' with Popping Candy inside. Just in time for Canada Day. I just had to try them.
And just like the Cheetos 'Bag of Bones' White Cheddar product I talked about last year, this too was being sold on Amazon for way more than what it cost in the stores. I think I paid under $4 for this bag.
Anyways, back to the cookie.
I lifted off the top to check it out before taking a bite...
... and it was pretty darn good!
It was all the goodness of regular Oreo cookies - with extra added fun.
Apart from the grittier texture, the cookies taste just like the original, right up till the end. But just when you thought you've missed out on the 'fireworks', a sudden, yet subtle dissolving and fizzling sensation takes over your mouth.
Anyone familiar with Pop Rock candies will know exactly what I mean!
The fizzy reaction actually lasted for quite some time after the cookie was long gone.
It was a pleasantly fun way to enjoy an already great classic! Yum!
